A display issue on your live site

Your live site isn’t displaying as it does in the editor: diagnostic mode, how to interpret the results, and other things to check.

Does your live site look different from what you see in the editor? First, make sure your latest changes have been published: until you republish, your visitors will see the previous version. See Publishing Your Site.

Diagnostic mode

Diagnostic mode opens your site while temporarily hiding the custom HTML blocks you've inserted. Everything else—your text, images, menu, and colors—displays normally. No one but you can see this version: your visitors continue to view the site as usual.

View the result

  • The problem disappears: it’s caused by one of your HTML blocks. Remove them one by one in the editor to identify the culprit.
  • The problem persists: your HTML blocks aren’t the issue; check the suggestions below.

Other possibilities

  • Republish after your last edit: a change saved in the editor isn’t live yet.
  • Open the site in incognito mode: your browser often caches the old version of a page.
  • Try on another device: this helps distinguish a real issue with the site from a local cache.
